Fun things I did instead of studying for my exams

Procratinating

I am no stranger to procrastination. But this exam period, it has hit me quite hard.

Leading up to my first week where I had two papers due and the 12-hour drive to and from Belgium for a written exam:

  1. Try to become a chess grandmaster
  2. Read three books
  3. Spend time with Jesse’s family
  4. Start my “writing dangerously project”
  5. Come up with freelance, remote business ideas
  6. Daily journaling

Leading up to my one final exam:

  1. Research additional PhD and other post-grad programs in Europe
  2. Look for programs for Jesse
  3. Search for jobs
  4. Start studying Italian
  5. Adding a second time a day for daily journaling
  6. Start writing the book I stopped writing 8 years ago
  7. Try to learn the Russian alphabet
  8. Spend all day shopping for the perfect pair of boots
  9. Look through hundreds of coats I cannot afford
  10. Start a French lesson through Coursera
  11. Search for jobs in Berlin
  12. Search for jobs in Estonia
  13. Stretching
  14. Getting back into exercise
  15. Research new hobbies
  16. Change the theme on my website
  17. Find pictures for a bunch of my posts
  18. Created a list of Italian authors I should read
  19. Created an even longer list of Russian literature I should read, even though I have failed to finish Anna Karenina three times now
  20. Create this list

I am sure there are more, but I should finish my last 17 pages of reading before heading to bed since my exam starts at 9 am tomorrow.
